Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in seeking a full-time Stress Analysis Engineer for the Advanced Development Programs (home of the Skunk Works®) in Marietta, Georgia. A successful candidate will use their technical experience to develop innovative and ingenious solutions to highly complex technical problems. Responsibilities for this position may include:
- Stress analysis, detail part sizing, and strength assessment of aircraft primary and secondary structure and systems
- Analysis and trade studies to evaluate and compare structural efficiency and weight of various structural arrangements and concepts
- Strength analysis to support and certify new and existing designs by sizing, releasing drawings, and preparing analysis reports
- Support of structural tests with inputs to test requirements, test loads, and predicted test results
- Production support in design of Material Review Board (MRB) repairs that give required strength to discrepant parts or assemblies

Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

This position is in Marietta, GA Discover Marietta.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in an engineering technical discipline such as Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Civil Engineering
- Experience with stress analysis by classical textbook methods
- Experience in developing, running, and post-processing with Finite Element Models
- Understanding of engineering drawing practices, material properties, and manufacturing processes
Desired Skills:
- Experience using FEA tools such as NASTRAN, PATRAN, Altair Hypermesh, Abaqus, Apex
- Experience with structural analysis of metallic and composite aircraft structure
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Project
- Experience with coding in Python or VBA
- Familiarity with CATIA V5 or Dassault 3DExperience
- Highly proficient in communication skills, with ability to compile and present material to customer; experience in a collaborative work environment and good interpersonal skills for conversing with teammates
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
