You will be the Structures Design Engineer. F-16 Airframe Design, is one of several design teams responsible for the F-16 configuration. The F-16 program along with F-22 and T-50 form the Integrated Fighter Group (IFG) line of business. With a worldwide fleet of over 2800 active aircraft and over 150 on order to be built, the F-16 design teams are incredibly busy. The variety of work spans from retrofits, upgrades, and repairs for existing customers to supporting the production line as new airframes are being built.


What You Will Be Doing

The applicant will be responsible for creation and/or modification of primary and secondary structural parts, assemblies, installations, and interface control models/documents. Creating aircraft layouts to support formal engineering releases/configuration changes. Successful experienced team members enjoy leading and mentoring the early career engineers. This job is a mixture of individual work and teamwork. The designer is responsible for their individual tasks but an important part of the job is to interface with other designers/teams. Interpersonal and communications skills are highly valued.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or higher in an engineering technical discipline.
- Experience with 3DX, CATIA, Solidworks, Pro Engineer, Creo, Unigraphics, NX, or equivalent 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tool
- Experience with structural design
Desired Skills:
- Experience with 3DX or CATIA V5
- Experience with metallic and composite design
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience with structural analysis for preliminary sizing
-Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical degrees preferred.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
