***This is a deployed position in the Garden Grove, CA area. Candidate will work at one or more assigned Lockheed Martin supplier companies. (Telecommuter work location reasonably close to Lockheed Martin supplier locations as defined in agreement with the Lockheed Manager). This is NOT an out of area remote or virtual position. Candidate perform onsite oversight at suppliers on a daily basis.***

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a Summer 2024 Intern In this role, you will:
• Apply quality principles in the areas of: incoming material, production control, product evaluation, program performance, reliability, inventory control, and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality for make and/or buy products.
• Engage in product failure investigations, material review board decisions and corrective/preventive action.
• Ensure corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and/or are compliant with requirements.
• Apply strategies and systems designed to improve internal and/or supplier performance and productivity.
• Evaluate quality systems for deficiency identification and correction..

The successful candidate will have basic knowledge of quality, operations, and lean manufacturing. Must be a

US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications:
• Pursing a Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing/fabrication Engineering, Quality, or aircraft maintenance related degree.

• Experience and/or knowledge of Basic reading of Engineering drawings

• Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Desired Skills:
• Basic Understanding of Structural Manufacturing preferably fabrication or assembly work.

• Familiar with standard Quality Principles with focus on AS9100 / AS9102

• Interpretation of Engineering Process Specifications

• Interpretation of Engineering Blueprints

• Interpretation of Engineering Process Specifications

• Background in verification of mechanical methods for machined parts and assemblies.

• Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

• Basic knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles

• Basic knowledgeable level of Root Cause and Corrective Action tools ensuring effectiveness of Corrective Actions plans.

• Basic knowledgeable in surveillance of QMS / manufacturing processes.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment

• Proficient with Microsoft Office application

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $20,904 - $61,672 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $24,024 - $67,288. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
