Boeing is currently looking for Supplier Quality Engineers to join their team in Hazelwood, MO (Long Beach, CA; North Charleston, SC; Ridley Park, PA; Seattle, WA; San Antonio, TX). These positions will focus on supporting the Boeing Global (BGS) business organization. 

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate may be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options

Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation. Provides Quality interpretation of requirements. Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements. Conducts capability assessments, process validations, requirements consumption reviews to early quality involvement activities. Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs. Performs analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness. Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances. Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions. Recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances. Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved. Works under general direction.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Act as RCR facilitator – leading prep sessions with Engineering, Supplier Management, and Supplier
  • Schedule on-site RCR event; lead and facilitate
    • Leads review of supplier quality requirements (“Q Notes”)
    • Ensures Engineering is prepared to lead review of key  technical information to ensure quality and producibility.
    • Ensures Supplier Management is prepared to lead review of key terms and conditions
  • Provides education and coaching on QMS Requirements (note:  will need to understand which QMS approvals the supplier holds).
  • Documents RCR results in standard formats with detail. Compiles data and provides recommendations to suppliers to support First Past Quality and NOE prevention.
  • Collects, verifies, and categorizes the actions coming from the event.
  • Provides ideas and concepts for corrective action development, in coordination with other functions.
  • Maintains to closure the action item list.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 3+ years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • 3+  years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of experience working in Quality, Supplier Quality or Supplier Management

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • 5+  years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years of experience working in Quality, Supplier Quality or Supplier Management
  • Strong organizational and collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated high level of dependability, interpersonal skills, initiative, adaptability, decision-making, and problem solving and organization skills
  • Familiar with Boeing Process and Procedures

Typical Education & Experience:
(Experienced)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

(Senior)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years related work experience, Master+7 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Summary pay range (Level 3): $65,520- $121,680

Summary pay range (Level 4)  $80,640- $149,760
