What You Will Be Doing

Lockheed Martin Aeronautics in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a full-time Systems Engineer Staff to support the Integrated Fighter Group (IFG) working primarily on the F-16 with some potential work on the FA-50 aircraft. The current F-16 Programs are adding/upgrading to some cutting edge technologies, especially with the latest Block 70/72 versions. A brand new F-16 production line has been stood up and lots of orders for new F-16 are in our backlog. The FA-50 program is also ramping up to support integrating new technologies for multiple programs in partnership with KAI. Our team has a lot of exciting work ahead of us for a long time!

As a staff engineer, you will be expected to be a leader in the technical execution of the system integration and testing of the aircraft avionics for your assigned capability area. Day to day activities for this role will include conducting avionics software and hardware integration testing in a laboratory environment, supporting avionics troubleshooting both on the aircraft and in the lab, developing test procedures based on system requirements, developing and conducting automated test scripts, performing technical reviews of the teams work, leading the integration and testing of a new capability, organizing and coordinating testing and troubleshooting activities with the test leads, implementing improvement initiatives, supporting team technical roadmaps, providing programmatic support, leading in a technical area on the team, training new engineers, and much more. These activities will be done for multiple avionics capabilities including but not limited to Communication, Navigation and Identification (CNI), Link-16 data link, radar, pods, stores/weapons, displays, and mission computer systems.

The position also includes the support of other activities affected by system and flight test integration including flight test operations, instrumentation, production aircraft delivery, test station, software, training systems, subsystem weapons, support equipment, and T.O. development. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of aircraft avionics troubleshooting and testing.

Some shift work (2nd / 3rd) is required to support program and lab schedules.

You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.



This position is located at a facility that requires special access and a security clearance.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Aircraft avionics experience
• System level testing experience
Desired Skills:
• Physically able to access aircraft cockpit test fixtures and conduct lab testing for typical 6-hour test shifts.
• Fighter aircraft avionics experience including but not limited to A-G weapons, UAI, A-A weapons, sensors/pods, communication systems, navigation system, etc.
• Hands-on experience with testing of avionics software and hardware
• Experience operating in an agile environment
• Expert in data analysis, problem identification/isolation, and troubleshooting
• Proficient understanding of the systems engineering process
• Experience in reviewing electrical wiring diagrams, schematics, and engineering drawings
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
