Position Overview:

Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) is currently looking for Early and Mid-Career Tool Design Engineers to support multiple programs within our Air Dominance group located in Berkeley, Missouri.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate and Experienced Tool Design Engineers.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports the evaluation of program and project requirements, develops moderately complex equipment and tooling concepts and designs solutions for the Production System.

  • Compiles and analyzes technical data to determine the effects on product engineering design and rate estimates for equipment and tooling.

  • Ensures compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.

  • Validates contractual performance milestones, maintains configuration control, conducts reviews, prepares plans for productions readiness, preventative maintenance, and spares.

  • Conducts training for Production and Maintenance personnel.

  • Develops and implements moderately complex work-arounds and maintains configuration of hardware, software and documentation. Supports studies for disposition of assets.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.  An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

 This position is expected to be 100 onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Technical Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (a technical degree is defined as any four-year degree, or greater, in a mathematical, scientific or information technology field of study)

  • 2&43; years of engineering experience

  • 2&43; years of experience in a manufacturing environment

  • 2&43; years of experience with 3D CAD modeling

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in designing assembly tools, masters and mechanical & handling equipment tools in an aerospace / manufacturing setting

  • Skill and ability to: collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.

  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change, design).

Typical Education/Experience: 

Associate (Level 2): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Mid-Level (Level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master&43;3 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Summary pay range for associate level: $76,500 - $103,500

Summary pay range for mid-level: $90,100 - $121,900
