Job Description SummaryThe Value Stream Team Design Engineer - Cost Execution is responsible for execution of engineering activities to validate and enable cost out opportunities. The execution of these projects have significant impact to customer and business goals both in the short-term and long-term.

In this role, you will be responsible for the execution of design changes on cost out projects. You will apply engineering concepts to design and manufacturing issues. You will collaborate with cross functional teams to substantiate and document changes. You will engage with colleagues and partners in manufacturing sites to refine engineering solutions.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. Includes the design and analysis of turbine components (airfoil blades, nozzles, and shrouds).

• Developing conceptual knowledge of professional discipline. May include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad area.

• Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. Understands how work of own team contributes to the area.

• Resolves issues using established procedures. Consults supervisor or more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.

• Collaborates with others to solve issues. Exchanges technical information asks questions and checks for understanding.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science from an accredited college or university.

Desired Qualifications

• Demonstrates basic domain expertise in technical knowledge

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
