Job Description
Responsible for the research and development of existing and new wireless technologies used to optimize and maintain United States Attorneys’ corporate and nationwide network which include Designing, Testing, Installing, Configuring, Implementing, and troubleshooting of Wireless and LAN equipment
Working with 3rd party and internal departments in integrating wireless equipment with current WAN and security infrastructure.
Optimizing wireless performance while fulfilling security requirements for user/device
authentication, encryption and intrusion detection, i.e. 802.1x RADIUS Authentication using EAP-TLS.
Provide WLAN design recommendations based on industry best practices
Experience designing, installing, configuring, and troubleshooting wireless controllers, Mobility Conductor (MCR), SSID configuration, Guest Portals, Access point provisioning;
Responsible for installation, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and modification of wireless network hardware and software. Which include:
- Cisco Switches (3850 and 9300 experience preferred)
Wireless Controllers (Aruba experience preferred)
- Provided tier 3 support in the area of wireless devices, including hand-held devices, LAN and WAN connectivity.
- Responsible for documentation of installed networks, to include systems design, operations and implementations guides, Visio design drawings, etc.
- Maintains the security and integrity of all wireless hardware and software.
- Knowledge of Windows Server 201x OS platforms; to include DNS & DHCP functions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Guest registration web portal (Aruba ClearPass experience preferred)
- Recommending configuration changes and software upgrades
- Configuration and testing of QoS for voice & video, VLANS, ACL’s, GRE
- tunnels, VRRP, etc.
- Monitoring systems (Aruba Airwave preferred)
- 802.1x RADIUS authentication using EAP-TLS
- 802.11 a/b/g/i/n/ac
- Site Surveys: Using AirMagnet analysis software or equivalent
