AVK Industrial Products, a Precision Castparts Company, manufactures superior mechanical inserts, studs, compression limiters, installation tools and military standard bolts. AVK produces blind installed threaded fasteners for transportation and general industrial markets worldwide. We use state of the art high-speed cold forming equipment to produce blind installed threaded inserts and studs.
We feature product lines of both unified (INCH) and metric fasteners along with numerous special designs that meet customer application requirements. All aspects of our business are controlled and certified to the exacting requirements of ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 14001:2015 international standards. Housed in an 80,000 square-foot facility in the Valencia Industrial Center, AVK has been manufacturing high quality products for over 25 years.
Position Summary:
Responsible for performing a variety of accounting assignments under general direction from supervisor. Perform assignments with instructions as to general results expected. Plan and conduct work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation or modification of standard accounting techniques, procedures, and practices. Devise new approaches to most problems, seeking technical guidance on unusually complex problems. This position will apply skills to specific areas such as cost accounting, manufacturing analysis, account reconciliations, and accounting policy compliance for AVK Industrial Products.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Assist Controller in budgeting, forecasting, and financial presentations.
• Assist Controller in preparation for monthly and quarterly Operations Reviews and other requirements as directed.
• Performs cost accounting functions including standard cost roll and related analyses.
• Prepare various daily, weekly, and monthly management reports such as Expense Tracking, E&O monitoring and WIP variances report.
• Analyze and monitor Inventory balances and WIP Jobs.
• Support completion of quarterly financial package with various statistical data.
• Assists with monthly/quarterly internal close process including preparing/posting assigned journal entries, accruals, balance sheet account reconciliation, AP and AR Support and account variance analysis.
• Coordinate audit requests with internal and external audit groups.
• Responsible for activities such as physical inventory or establishing standards for the up-coming physical year.
• Assist in various accounting assignments under general direction from supervisor.

QUALIFICIATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• 2 years + of blended experience in finance, or accounting; manufacturing costing preferred.
• 2 years + proficiency with Microsoft Excel (to include but not limited to Pivot tables, understanding conditional formats, and vlookups)

• Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic environment within tight deadlines.
• Team player with a flexible and open attitude.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Handle moderately complex issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff.
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, especially proficient in Excel.
• Oracle ERP, SAS, or SQL experience a bonus.
• Extensive experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standards.
• Willingness to spend time in the manufacturing environment learning processes.
