Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Mid-Level Procurement Agent to join our dynamic team in Mesa, AZ and join us on a journey that navigates one of the most complex supply chains in the world!

This team procures goods and services in support of all Boeing Defense Programs and offers a unique opportunity to support and enable operations across many areas of the Boeing Company.  The procurement agent will execute and manage contracts for a variety of products and services that range in value and complexity.  The successful candidate must possess strong operational and financial business acumen, demonstrate adaptability, strong communication, problem solving, conflict management skills, and take initiative.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Integrates program, customer, product and in-service strategies into source selection, negotiation and contracting strategies
  • Negotiates pricing and contract terms and conditions
  • Prepares and executes negotiated contractual documents and binding agreements
  • Conducts risk, issues and opportunities management
  • Initiates and executes supplier improvement activities and integrates results into contracting strategies
  • Issues Requests for Proposals/Quotes, performing proposal fact-finding and Price and Cost Analysis, developing negotiation strategies utilizing supplier cost & pricing data, contract terms and conditions and preparing contractual documents and binding agreements
  • Manages supplier performance to ensure delivery, quality, financial stability and other key support to programs. In addition, the team will be responsible for driving for cultivating and maintaining the supplier relationship

This position is hybrid. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position is for 1st shift.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • More than 3 years of experience in Supplier Management/ Procurement as a Purchasing Agent or Buyer

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience negotiating directly with suppliers
  • More than 1 year of experience with FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations)
  • More than 1 year of experience in leading and prioritizing request for proposals (RFP)
  • More than 1 year of experience negotiating non-competitive, government procurements that exceed the Truth In Negotiations Act (TINA) threshold
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher

Typical Education/Experience:

Typically 6 or more years’ related work experience or relevant military experience. Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 10 of the time.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $74,800 - $92,400
