Summary and Objective
flyExclusive is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President of SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting to lead our SEC reporting processes and technical accounting operations. As a key member of our executive team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our financial reporting, managing technical accounting matters, and contributing to the long-term success of flyExclusive. 
The ideal candidate will be a technical accounting guru with the ability to drive the Q/K processes and research new accounting situations. A CPA is required for this position.

Essential Functions

  • Lead the preparation and filing of all SEC reports, including 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and other required filings, ensuring compliance with SEC regulations and GAAP.
  • Provide strategic guidance on technical accounting matters, including new accounting standards, complex transactions, and emerging financial reporting issues.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures in accordance with GAAP and SEC regulations.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit and quarterly reviews, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis and technical accounting research to support complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, and to ensure appropriate accounting treatment.
  • Monitor and assess the impact of new accounting pronouncements and provide guidance on their implementation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and consistency in financial reporting and accounting practices.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing SEC reporting and technical accounting team, promoting professional development, teamwork, and a culture of accountability.
  • Ensure full compliance with all financial regulations and governance standards, implementing best practices to maintain strong internal controls.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of SEC regulations, GAAP, and technical accounting standards.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead SEC reporting processes and technical accounting operations.
  • Excellent leadership and training capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems, including Microsoft Office and accounting software.
  • Ability to work under pressure with accuracy, efficiency, and confidence.
  • Adaptability, accountability, and the ability to handle complex and challenging situations.

Competencies:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Expertise in technical accounting and SEC reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of financial analysis and financial statement preparation.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • No direct supervisory responsibilities, but responsible for mentoring and guiding the SEC reporting and accounting team.

Work Environment:

  • Typical office environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Exposure to loud noises, including but not limited to airplane machinery and jet engines.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to see and hear clearly.
  • Ability to sit for long periods.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and speak English clearly.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to regularly lift/move up to 30 pounds.

Job Requirements:

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years focused on SEC reporting and technical accounting.
  • Proven track record of success in SEC reporting, technical accounting, and financial analysis.
  • Experience in the aviation industry or a similarly regulated industry is a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, mentor, and manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong knowledge of financial software and systems.
  • Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States; must provide two forms of Federal Identification.
  • Candidates must successfully complete a comprehensive background check prior to employment. This includes verification of previous employment, education, criminal history, and any other relevant information necessary to determine suitability for the position.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in the aviation industry or prior Part 135 Operator/Private Charter experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of aviation regulatory and compliance requirements is a plus.
