Job Description:

Under the direction of the Supervisor – Cabinet (or Technician II – Cabinet with delegated authority), the Technician I possesses an entry-level knowledge in production systems and environments.  The Technician I is assigned project tasks, and assists with periodic and on-going on-the-job training and other initiatives which by design build aviation cabinetry experience.  Given the aforementioned, the Technician I is entry-level; ICON Champions a dynamic learning environment among the ranks, guiding the Technician I toward what opportunities exist for upward career movement and skill enhancement.

DUTIES & RESPONSABILITIES

  • Effectively teams with the Supervisor, Customer Projects Supervisor and Quality assigned to the project to efficiently execute the work scope and communicates at all levels of the organization and with customer,
  • Attends debriefs for all assigned projects,
  • Uses available resources and teams with members for maximum efficiency,
  • Charges labor hours to assigned tasks, records resolutions with respect to work performed,
  • Works within the AS9100D Quality Management System, paying particular attention to forms, processes and procedures designed to control and deliver Quality,
  • Uses all applicable technical data, including but not limited to, the methods, techniques and practices prescribed in the current manufacturer’s maintenance manual,
  • Performs tasks as assigned, accepts training on-the-job as requested,
  • Self-monitors all work performed, scrutinizes details to ensure articles ready for inspection, will meet quality standards and are conformed in totality,
  • Ensures that aircraft maintenance paperwork and forms are completed in accordance with methods of execution outlined in the Quality Standard,
  • Provides for the shift turnover requirements as outlined in the Quality Standard and establishes assignments to relieving crews,
  • Collaborates and cooperates with the assigned Customer Project Supervisor to achieve the on time and on budget objectives of the work scope,
  • Collaborates with the assigned Customer Projects Supervisor for work arising approval and authorization for overtime,
  • Collaborates and cooperates with the assigned Quality Inspector to achieve aircraft approval for COC issuance and shipping,
  • Drives daily activities toward providing services and deliverables to the customer that meet and exceed customer satisfaction expectations,
  • Promotes and fosters an environment that provides the team with opportunities to succeed. Contributes to the annual performance evaluation of personnel assigned under their leadership.  Monitors and documents employee performance throughout performance improvement plans,
  • Contributes to the annual training needs assessment exercise required by the Quality Standard,
  • Supports ICON mission, vision and values through achievement of department goals and objectives, contributes to process improvement and the development of strategies that improve customer service and the business operations process, promotes the ICON brand, lives the ICON brand,
  • Observes and administers company rules and regulations and safety policy and standard operating procedures,
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the accountable Manager and / or Supervisor.
Job Requirements:
  • Ability to self-manage with minimal oversight, teams with other ICON employees with a calm demeanor,
  • Ability to communicate well, in advanced / complex situations,
  • Is highly organizational skills and respects attention to detail,
  • Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment,
  • Possess excellent mechanical aptitude and a desire to initiate improvements within defined boundaries.
  • Physical:
    • Routinely lifts up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds,
    • Stands for periods of time, with frequent bending, squatting, kneeling and stooping,
    • Uses hands to reach and feel, with repetitive motion,
    • Good finger dexterity,
    • Reads, writes, speaks and understands English fluently,
    • Visual acuity correctable to 20 / 20,
    • Works in confined spaces, extreme temperatures, heights above six feet, noisy environments and flight,
    • Works with and around products and materials associated with aircraft maintenance,
    • Ability to wear required PPE,
    • Regularly scheduled attendance required,
    • Must be able to work various shifts and overtime as needed,
    • Occasional overnight and short notice travel.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

  • Associate Degree in related field or equivalent preferred,
  • Introductory knowledge of FARs’ 25, 43, 49, 91, 121, 135, 145,
  • 1+ years manufacturing experience related to refurbishment, production; minimal aviation-specific experience expected,
  • Basic computing skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
Salary Range: $20.00-$30.00
Relocation: Negotiable
