Job Description:

Under the direction of the Supervisor – Seats, the Technician II possesses advanced knowledge of seat systems and demonstrates a peer-to-peer acumen for intermediate crew and project management.

In lieu of a Crew Chief, the Technician II is delegated project oversight duties and assists with periodic and ongoing team management and review initiatives. Given the aforementioned management and leadership abilities in the Technician II tool-kit, the Technician II is often an ICON Champion among the ranks, guiding Technician I employees toward what on a smaller scale management and leadership can look like in addition to being hands-on.

Job Requirements:
  • Effectively teams with the Supervisor, Customer Projects Supervisor, and Quality assigned to the project to efficiently execute the work scope and communicates at all levels of the organization and with customers
  • Attends debriefs for all assigned projects
  • Assigns technicians on crews and from support shops to perform the tasks required by the work scope and monitors performance to plan
  • Teams with Quality Inspector to perform inspection of work performed
  • Supervises the daily activities of assigned work crews taking necessary action to ensure that all work is completed within schedule and estimated labor and material costs
  • Drives the team for maximum efficiency and effective use of available resources including assignment of overtime as required and authorized and accurately charging labor hours to the appropriate AS9100D Forms
  • Assigns the tasks as required by the work scope with efficiency and to Quality standards, paying particular attention to appropriately assigning tasks to the Quality Inspectors
  • Ensures the use of applicable technical data, including but not limited to, the methods, techniques, and practices prescribed in the current manufacturer’s maintenance manual
  • Ensures that personnel assigned to perform tasks are qualified to perform the task and identifies training requirements
  • Monitors all work performed by the crew to ensure that all work accomplished meets quality standards and is airworthy
  • Ensures that aircraft maintenance paperwork and forms are completed in accordance with methods of execution outlined in the Quality Standard
  • Provides for the shift turnover requirements as outlined in the Quality Standard and establishes assignments to relieving crews
  • Collaborates and cooperates with the assigned Customer Project Supervisor to achieve the on-time and on-budget objectives of the work scope
  • Collaborates with the assigned Customer Projects Supervisor for work arising approval and authorization for overtime
  • Collaborates and cooperates with the assigned Quality Inspector to achieve aircraft approval for COC issuance and shipping
  • Drives daily activities toward providing services and deliverables to the customer that meet and exceed customer satisfaction expectations
  • Promotes and fosters an environment that provides the team with opportunities to succeed. Contributes to the annual performance evaluation of personnel assigned under their leadership
  • Monitors and documents employee performance throughout performance improvement plans
  • Contributes to the annual training needs assessment exercise required by the Quality Standard
  • Supports ICON mission, vision, and values through the achievement of department goals and objectives, contributes to process improvement and the development of strategies that improve customer service and the business operations process, promotes the ICON brand, lives the ICON brand
  • Observes and administers company rules and regulations and safety policy and standard operating procedures
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the accountable Manager and/or Supervisor

  • Physical:
    • Routinely lifts up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifts up to 100 pounds
    • Stands for periods of time, with frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, and stooping
    • Uses hands to reach and feel, with repetitive motion
    • Good finger dexterity
    • Reads, writes, speaks, and understands English fluently
    • Visual acuity correctable to 20/20
    • Works in confined spaces, extreme temperatures, heights above six feet, noisy environments, and flight
    • Works with and around products and materials associated with aircraft maintenance
    • Ability to wear required PPE
    • Regularly scheduled attendance required
    • Must be able to work various shifts and overtime as needed
    • Occasional overnight and short-notice travel

EDUCATION & TRAINING

  • Associate Degree in a related field or equivalent required
  • Bachelor or Graduate Degree preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of FARs 25, 43, 49, 91, 121, 135, 145
  • 5 plus years of related refurbishment, completion and repair experience required
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Office Suite
