Our Troy, OH site is seeking a Brake Value Stream Machinist to set-up and machine quality parts, perform in process and inspection checks as defined by the routing, and move materials as needed to maintain workflow.

2nd Shift Monday– Friday 3:00p.m.- 11:00p.m

What You Will Do

  • Obtain job assignments from supervisor or job assignment book, including piece quantity and special instructions.
  • Read and follow standard operating procedures, engineering process sheets, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Pre-set tooling as needed for the job.
  • Set up equipment using routings, blueprints, and work instructions to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Machine components on assigned machines and inspect for blueprint compliance.
  • Work with management to improve and document machining processes.
  • Order gages to support production.
  • Clean and maintain work areas and equipment, including machine tools, workbenches, floors, and hand tools.
  • Oil machines and check/maintain operating levels of fluids and machine materials (e.g., coolant, filters, oil).
  • Move materials between workstations, cells, and the warehouse to maintain workflow.
  • Complete approval tickets, consult with inspection for first-piece approval, and record data as required.
  • Retrieve items from the tool crib and complete necessary forms/transactions.
  • Attend training classes, cell meetings, and perform other tasks assigned by management.
  • Wear personal protective equipment as required. 
  • Substantial reaching and moving while standing; lifting to 25lbs unassisted; twisting; stooping; and response to sounds associated to the work environment.
  • Adhere to all EH&S roles and responsibilities as stated in manufacturing work instructions and EHS policies and procedures.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • HS Diploma. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience is required.
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here:  https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62
  • One or more years of CNC experience or completed a machining certificate or degree (transcripts or certificate/diploma required) and successful completion of Company provided testing including a hands-on assessment test.
  • Achieve a passing score on a Mechanical Aptitude test and CNC Machinist exam onsite prior to an offer.
  • FAA requires a Color vision normal test one time only. Near vision in one or both eyes corrected to 20/25 or better is checked once every year.
