Director of Purchasing

Summary

We are looking for a buyer who can source, negotiate, and purchase inventory of commercial airplane parts. You will work closely with our maintenance and operations teams to ensure that we have the right parts at the right time and at the best price. You will also maintain relationships with our suppliers and vendors.

Responsibilities

• The purchase of commercial airplane used serviceable material for inventory.
• Research and identify potential suppliers and vendors of commercial airplane parts.
• Request and compare quotes, bids, and proposals from various sources.
• Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery conditions with suppliers and vendors.
• Place orders and monitor the status and quality of the orders.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and policies related to purchasing.
• Manage inventory levels and reorder points for parts.
• Track and report on purchasing activities and performance.
• Resolve any issues or problems that may arise with suppliers, vendors, or orders.
• Maintain accurate and updated records of purchasing documents and data.

• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, aviation, or related field
• At least 10 years of experience in purchasing, in the aviation industry with a demonstrated history of success
• Knowledge of commercial airplane parts and their specifications
• Strong negotiation, communication, and people skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and purchasing software.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel to visit suppliers and vendors.
