Purpose and Scope:

The purpose of this job description is to define the roles and responsibilities of an electroplating assistant working as a team member in the Chemical Processing facility at the Component Services business.

Responsibilities:

  • The electroplating assistant is responsible through their technical supervisor to the programme manager for support given to all Chemical Processing staff in the execution of their duties relating to metal finishing (Chemical Processing) of aircraft components, their various sub-assemblies and constituent parts to support maintenance during their repair cycle at StandardAero Component Services Almondbank. These duties may include but are not solely restricted to the following:
  • Will effectively carry out a variety of Chemical Processing operations or sub operations such as media blasting and masking in accordance with their competences only using current authorised procedures as laid down in the relevant Approved Source documentation, applicable ABM procedures and pollution Prevention Control authorization.
  • Contribute to team delivery of agreed targets and goals.
  • Attend and contribute to Team Meetings.
  • Contribute to improvement disciplines, including Safety Quality Cost Delivery People (SQCDP) and Continuous Improvement to assist productivity, Quality, Health Safety and Environment, and create a leaner environment.
  • They will also be required to undertake work to their highest level of competence.
  • Comply with Tool Control Procedures in accordance with relevant ABM procedure.
  • Comply with all appropriate Health and Safety instructions, appropriate risk assessments are adhered to, machinery, tools, display screen equipment, PPE and all other safety measures are demonstrably safe and their use risk assessed, and that all staff are aware of safe ways of working and that measures are reviewed in line with standards.
  • Adherence to our Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety Management Systems (SMS) Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and all associated Business Manuals.
  • To achieve maximum flexibility team members will undertake training.
  • Agree to do other duties within the team to support team output.
  • Ensure that debris generated in their work area is removed/cleaned in a timely fashion.

Authorities:

  • Authorised to carry out Chemical Processing operations that they have competence recorded for in their Log Books / Training Records IN ACCORDANCE WITH the relevant ABM Leaflets.

Organisational Relationships:

  • Reports to the Part Repair manager through the Electroplating technical supervisor.

For all tasks for which they are competent:

  • Be able to interpret Work Order requirements, Approved Source Information standards and local Detailed Process Instructions (DPIs) applicable to Chemical Processing.
