We are looking for a GSE Technician required to inspect, service/maintain, and troubleshoot faulty equipment used to perform aircraft maintenance including but not limited to safety equipment, jacks, forklifts, vehicles, hangar equipment, tooling, facility preventative maintenance and upgrades.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs of GSE and equipment safely in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Perform periodic building maintenance inspections and testing to ensure conformity to code and requirements by provincial and federal laws.
  • Locate, and order parts required for maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Keep detailed and accurate maintenance records of all work performed.
  • Actively monitor and update the preventative maintenance schedule ensuring required tasks are completed on time.
  • Compile work orders, inspections, repair and overhaul documentation in work records.
  • Responsible for traceability of parts issued from stores to assigned job tasks.
  • Continually strive to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes.
  • Promote and actively engage in continuous improvement activities & incentives and as required work with Continuous Improvement Specialist to support implementation of required changes.
  • Actively participate in AAR Windsor’s Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting safety hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understands and promotes the company safety policy.

Education and experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role preferred
  • Knowledge on hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems
  • Ability to measure and fabricate/machine repair parts to high tolerances for aircraft tooling
  • Ability to read, interpret and perform maintenance activities using operating/maintenance instructions and manuals Ability to weld
  • First Aid Certified or able to be trained
  • Forklift experience considered an asset
  • Knowledge working in dangerous or hazardous environment associated with the trade
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook
  • Demonstrated proficiency in a preventative maintenance management system
