Contract Position

This role is supporting the space systems division of one of our longest partners in our 28 years of staffing in Aerospace and Defense. This program builds satellites and spacecraft that do amazing things in space for government and commercial customers. You will be working with a team whose satellites give earlier warning of severe weather, connect troops on the battlefield, and deliver GPS directions to a billion people worldwide. Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate a variety of machine tools such as lathes milling machines shapers planers and precision grinders to make metal parts mechanisms tools or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions.
• Interpret blueprints sketches and engineering specifications; determines sequence of operations number of cuts required and method of setup.
• Use a variety of machinists hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Make standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work tooling feeds and speeds.
• Measure marks and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machinin.
• Fit and assemble precision parts into mechanical equipment and determines material parts and equipment required.
• May modify numerically controlled programs on numerically controlled (NC) machines.
• May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures

Qualifications:

• Typically requires completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
• Must Posses a Top secret clearance with a T5 investigation.
