This is a Day shift position that typically works Mondays - Thursdays from 5:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., but candidates must be willing and available to work other shifts or overtime as needed to meet delivery schedules.

Journey level Precision Deburr/Finisher needed for our Machine Shop team in Redmond, Washington. Typical schedule: (4) 10-hour days (Monday- Thursday, 5:00am-3:30pm) but candidates must be willing and available to work other shifts or overtime as needed to meet delivery schedules.

Essential Functions

CNC Machinist:

  • Reading and understanding GD&T, engineering drawings and blueprints including true positioning and conventional tolerance.
  • Reading and following production planning.
  • Running jobs close to tolerances of +/- .0001".
  • Maintaining a rejection rate of less than 2.
  • Using precision measuring instruments to check work.
  • Setting up and running the following: numerically controlled and conventional Lathes (includes programming).
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDM Machinist:

  • Under direction of the Machine Shop Supervisor, Lead or designee, the Machinist will perform set-ups and machining of close tolerance aerospace hardware on sinker and small hole EDMs
  • Reading and understanding engineered drawings and blueprints with a deep understanding of GD&T. Reading and following production planning
  • Running jobs close to tolerances of +/- .0001".
  • Maintaining a rejection rate of less than 1.
  • Using precision measuring instruments to check work.
  • Setting up and running electrical discharge machines.
  • Setting up and running manual and/or NC mills and lathes to fabricate electrodes.

Journey level Precision Deburr/Finisher:

  • Perform precision deburring and finishing under up to 20X power magnification on close tolerance space hardware. Hold tolerances of .002" to .005" on edge breaks and radiuses.
  • Maintain a rejection rate of less than 2.
  • Read and understand engineering blueprints and follow production plans.
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as Calipers, Micrometers, etc.
  • Set-up and operate Die grinders, Angle grinders and Pencil grinders for blending procedures.
  • Operate micro-blaster.

Requirements
  • CNC Machinist requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred and six (6) years of related experience in close tolerance machining experience. Knowledge of machining materials such as aluminum, tool, alloy, carbon steels, stainless steel, titanium, plastics and Inconel is preferred. Must understand and be able to use trigonometry. Requires the willingness and ability to work overtime as necessary.

  • EDM Machinist requirements: Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent), 6+ years EDM experience and 10+ years of close tolerance manual/CNC machining. Knowledge of machining materials such as aluminum, tool, alloy, carbon steels, stainless steel, titanium, plastics and Inconel is preferred. Must understand and be able to use trigonometry. Requires the willingness and ability to work overtime as necessary.
  • Journey- level Precision Deburr/Finisher requirements: High school diploma or equivalent and six (6) years of close tolerance deburr experience. Knowledge of machining materials such as aluminum, tool, alloy, carbon steels, stainless steel, titanium, plastics and Inconel is preferred. Requires the willingness and ability to work overtime as necessary.

Requires U.S. Citizenship or status as a U.S. Person. Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel items. The employee is regularly expected to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop and kneel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee will need to work near moving mechanical parts and in loud working conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes, chemicals or airborne particles.
