    This is a CONTRACT-TO-HIRE opportunity, based on performance.

    2nd shift: 2 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. (May consider 1st shift for exceptional candidates).

Summary:

    Expert CNC Programmer/Machinist must be proficient in programming 5-axis Milling and Multi-Turret/Multi-Spindle Turning Lathes using MasterCam software.

    Write, develop, and edit CNC programs; develop, design, and program related tooling fixtures as required.

    Support operations with 1st-time runs, program tryouts and approvals, and New Product Introductions.

    Promote continuous improvement (Lean) activities and provide technical support to CNC operators and machinists.

    This position supports all CNC programs and may require work on day or weekend shifts.

    The candidate must be a self-starter, able to communicate well, and possess excellent interpersonal skills.

    A thorough knowledge of CNC programming and machine shop practices is essential for success in this role.

    Provide direction and coaching to other CNC programmers to ensure all daily and weekly responsibilities and assignments are completed on time.

    Ensure product quality by working closely with all functional groups to develop, support, and maintain CNC programs, tooling, and related documentation for machinery used throughout the manufacturing facility.

    Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and Sales RFQ activities with cost estimates related to machining activities.

    Positively impact On-Time Delivery and reduce setup and cycle times.

    Use Mastercam to develop CNC programming from CAD data (e.g., solid models, .step, .igs), 2-D drawings, and applicable customer and/or internal requirements.

    Create and maintain CNC machining programs, providing the appropriate level of floor support for program introduction, productivity optimization, and troubleshooting.

    Define, design, order, review, and implement all tooling associated with the manufacture of parts on specified CNC machinery, working with Tool Design as required.

    Create and maintain tooling libraries and databases, including setup sheets, sketches, and associated documentation required to accurately account for the design configuration of CNC tooling.

    Provide appropriate floor support by interfacing with operators and other functional groups to review processing issues due to the machining process.

    Provide solutions that address root causes.

    Continuously improve manufacturing processes to ensure superior product quality, reduced cycle times, lead times, and minimized overall manufacturing costs.

    Assist Manufacturing Engineers in creating the most efficient manufacturing routings and outlines for the manufacture of parts utilizing CNC machinery.

    Support and provide assistance, as required, for various special projects.

    Provide guidance and coaching to other CNC programmers on best practices and efficient programming and machining techniques.

    Perform machine set-ups on FAI/NPI jobs and create and edit G&M code programs at the machine if necessary.
