Daher is seeking an experienced Supplier Performance Manager – Team lead to join our North American Stuart production site. This person will be responsible for managing their team to support the development of the suppliers and support the increase of their industrial level, with a particular focus on the medium to long term development.

The Supplier Performance Management Team Lead plays a critical role in ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and quality of the supply chain within the aviation and aerospace industry. This role involves overseeing the performance of suppliers, fostering strong relationships, and implementing strategies to enhance overall supplier performance.

Job description

Supplier Performance Evaluation:

  • Develop and implement supplier performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess supplier performance.
  • Conduct regular evaluations and audits of suppliers to ensure compliance with industry standards, contractual agreements, and regulatory requirement and to evaluate quality systems, manufacturing processes, and product conformity.
  • Analyze supplier performance data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering open communication and collaboration.
  • Address any issues or concerns raised by suppliers promptly and effectively, seeking mutually beneficial resolutions.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, quality assurance, and engineering, to align supplier performance objectives with organizational goals.

Supplier Quality Management

  • Develop and implement supplier quality management processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Collaborate with procurement, supply chain and engineering teams to qualify new suppliers and monitor the quality performance of existing suppliers.
  • Diagnose and communicate systemic supplier issues discovered in production and implement proper preventive and corrective actions internally and externally.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the supplier management process, implementing best practices and innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to develop and implement improvement plans aimed at enhancing quality, delivery performance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitor and track the effectiveness of improvement initiatives, making adjustments as necessary to drive continuous improvement.

Risk Management:

  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with supplier performance, including supply chain disruptions, quality issues, and delivery delays.
  • Develop contingency plans and alternative sourcing strategies to minimize the impact of supplier-related risks on operations.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory changes that may impact supplier performance and mitigate associated risks.

Team Leadership:

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the supplier performance management team, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous learning.
  • Set clear performance objectives and expectations for team members, conducting regular performance reviews and providing constructive feedback.
  • Mentor and develop team members, helping them build the skills and capabilities needed to excel in their roles.

Profile and other information related to the position

  • Bachelors degree in business administration, supply chain management, engineering, or a related field. Masters degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience in supplier management, procurement, or supply chain management within the aviation and aerospace industry.
  • Strong understanding of aviation regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices.
  • Proven track record of effectively managing supplier relationships and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve results.
  • Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) desired.
  • Certification of AS9100 Lead auditor preferred.
