The role: Workshop Material Supplier

Fleet Support Facility is a dynamic operational facility, providing specialist Workshop Engineering Support to the BA Operation and 3rd Party Customers. Your role will be to exercise the day-to-day stores activities.

The TBC stores team are responsible for processing, storing, and delivering aircraft tools and materials used by BA Engineering across our Fleet support and Powerplant Support facilities known as Aircraft workshop services. The team are the critical link between Supply Chain and Production Engineering, ensuring a high-quality standard in our TBC stores.

The Material Supplier plays an integral part in the operation. The role has plenty of variety and responsibility with safety and quality being high on the agenda. Keeping the customer at the heart of everything we do, you’ll always be ready to get the job done in a high spirited and enthusiastic way. You’ll be quality checking, receipting, issuing and despatching materials and tooling within the stores and workshop  environment, also delivering and distributing critical aircraft parts and consumables to the different workshop areas. You will also be using various types of forklifts for loading/unloading vehicles and for the manoeuvring and storage of materials.

What you’ll do: 

  • Transact aircraft materials and tools in accordance with the current technical procedures and processes.
  • Deliver, move and distribute materials/tools to meet the needs of the operation.
  • Ensure good storekeeping practices and quality standards are maintained to ahighlevel at all times.
  • Responsible for compliance with health & safety, environment and quality legislation.
  • Maintain stock accuracyvia a cyclic audit process.
  • Ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements.
  • Provide expertise in relation to Dangerous Goods & Road Transportation regulations (where relevant IATA/ADR course certification/knowledge is held).
  • Receipt aircraft materials into British Airways Engineering in accordance with the privileges granted under approval of being an MIA stamp holder (in circumstances where deemed to be required by the business and an individual holds an MIA stamp).
  • Exercise personal responsibility and reasonable care in preventing harm to yourself and others by ensuring that safe working practices are observed at all times.

 What you’ll bring to British Airways:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Meticulousness attention to detail.
  • IT literate and have the ability to learn the required systems for the role.
  • Working knowledge of SAP.
  • Audit & audit functions. • Ability to understandand deliver to operational targets. • Must have the ability to work a shift pattern.

Your experience: (Qualifications/Experience)

  • Level 2 Qualifications (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
  • Full UK DVLA Driving Licence, category B for manual transmission (minimum of 12 months driving experience with a full licence).
  • Already hold or ability to qualify for anAirside Pass.
  • Already hold or ability to obtain an Airside Driving Permit (with training).
  • Already hold or ability to acquire a Counter Balance forklift licence and additional truck licences (with training).
  • Knowledge of Dangerous Goods and Road Transportation regulations.
  • Knowledge of supply chain logistics.
  • IATA/ADR course certification relating to Dangerous Goods (preferred).
