JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the Shop Floor Control responsibilities of assigned Back Shop area which include but are not limited to:
  • Load/capacity monitoring of assigned area
  • Monitoring and tracking performance of assigned area to the Industrial Master Schedule (IMS)
  • Coordination of logistics between assigned area and its customers and suppliers
  • Expediting and resolution of problems concerning IMS production orders
  • Process Improvement
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate Degree or equivalent related experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in aircraft (or related) production/manufacturing field
  • Working knowledge of schedules and flow charts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word)
  • Analytical skills
  • Good communication skills, written and oral
  • Must be able to function throughout the total facility, including up and down stairs and in and out of aircraft with or without reasonable accommodation.
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· LEAN Certification

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Both normal office conditions and manufacturing environments. Must be able to work for long periods at a PC and able to tolerate manufacturing noise (riveting, machining, aircraft engines running, etc.).

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

  • Expedite and resolve production related issues with upstream suppliers and downstream customers of assigned Back shop area which include but are not limited to:
    • Parts Planning Tool (PPT) shortages
    • Requests for Manufacturing Engineering Assistance (RMEA’s), Quick Engineering Change Sheets (QECS’s), Engineering Work Orders (EWO’s), and other production data management references
 
  • Assist in coordinating internal Back shop performance through:
    • Load/capacity balancing
    • Cost reduction plans to the IMS
    • Create/coordinate recovery plans for IMS deviations
    • Process improvement
 
  • Monitor and track assigned work center’s performance to:
    • IMS
    • Cost Reduction Plan
    • Internal schedules
