Position Summary:
Building upon level one, and operating with little supervision, level two assembly mechanics will also demonstrate proficiency in blueprint reading and related shop math. Level two assembly mechanics will operate and utilize a verity of handheld tools with minimal assistance to assemble moderately complex parts with higher error opportunities using a wide range of hardware and sealant types including proficiency in interlay, fillet and overcoat sealant application. Typically, 1-2 years of related experience.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Positions parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled or following blueprints.
- Operates manual or automatic assembly machines to assemble, bump, crimp, knurl, slot, insert, stamp, groove cut, etc. or resize or re-work parts to specifications.
- Operates support machines such as arbor press, drill press, cutters, rollers etc. as well as various hand tools such as pliers, wrenches.
- Check parts for dimensional accuracy use both touch and precision measuring instruments such as micrometers.
- Provides necessary counts and processes documentation accurately.
- Maintains production logs

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of basic computer use. Applicant should be familiar with Microsoft Office.
