A&P Technician/Apprentice I
Position Summary:
A&P technician/Apprentice 1 will assist the Director of Maintenance, Shop Foreman, and A&P Technicians with various jobs in the maintenance facility to ensure daily operations continue in a safe and productive manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for keeping maintenance facility in a clean and orderly condition
- Assist maintenance facility with various assigned tasks
- Assist maintenance personnel with maintenance items
- Assist with 100hr/ Annual Inspections (Open, Close, and Cleaning)
- Assist with towing aircraft in and out of maintenance facility. Staging for work or final delivery.
- Assist with parts/tool room organization.
A&P Technician II
Duties of the Position:
- Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting, including airframe structures, engines, and aircraft systems.
- Perform all airframe, power plant and propeller repairs and modifications required to meet company and FAA requirements.
- Remove and disassemble defective parts; assemble and install replacement parts; and test aircraft systems.
- Operate power tools and equipment necessary to accomplish job assignment.
- Complete all required maintenance records.
- Accurately record time worked and parts used on a work order.
- Present a clean and neat work area to our customers.
- Interpret technical manuals, drawings and blueprints.
- Tow and park aircraft.
- Perform other aircraft maintenance work as may be required.
- Perform varied additional duties as assigned.
Position Purpose:
Under minimal supervision, performs inspections, maintenance, and repairs of moderate to advanced complexity on aircraft systems and structures.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions:
- Communicate as required to receive and understand work assignments.
- Perform complex aircraft inspections, repairs, and modifications with minimal supervision.
- Properly complete work order sign-offs, and other paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist as needed with shift turnovers.
- Ensure that all work accomplished meets quality standards and specifications.
- Properly identify (tag) customer property and equipment.
- Store aircraft components and other customer property securely and safely.
- Follow standard operating procedures when operating ground support equipment (external power carts, hydraulic mules, hydraulic lift platforms, tow tugs, forklifts, compressed gas cylinders, etc.)
- Coordinate, accomplish, and assist with aircraft movement in hangar and ramp areas.
- Provide training to less experienced technicians.
- Coordinate with other departments to accomplish corporate goals. FBO Services, Flight Department and Line Services
- Perform other duties as required.
Additional Functions:
- Properly collect and dispose of waste fuel, oil, hydraulic fluids, de-icing fluids, and solvent rags.
- Apply initiatives to keep shops, hangars, and aircraft work areas clean and uncluttered.
- Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment.
- Return items to tool room after use. Note any defects to your supervisor.
- Comply with safety rules and procedures.
- Use protective equipment as required and be alert for unsafe conditions.
- Address unsafe conditions before putting people or property at risk.
- Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign -offs, and to charge labor to correct Work Orders.
