Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
*Fabricate and assemble composite parts in accordance with current technical data and procedures.
*Perform tool preparation, lamination, vacuum bagging, oven operation and finishing
*Rout, drill, trim and sand composite parts according to drawing dimensions and tolerances
*Handle and store all materials appropriately per product specifications.
*Operate a variety of hand tools and power tools
*Maintain a clean job site Required Skills
*Must be able to read basic blueprints
*Must be able to use close tolerance measuring tools (i.e., scales, micrometers, calipers, depth gages, etc.).
*Must be able to use hand tools (i.e., drill motors, die grinders, rivet guns, fastener installation tools, etc.).
*Must have ability to perform alignment/assembly using jig, templates and fixtures.
*PPE must be used when cutting, grinding, blending, and sanding
* Extensive use of bagging materials
*Must be able to properly bag for a wide range of component shapes and styles.
*Capable of using a “Hot-Bonder” type machine cure procedure.
*Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl and climb all day
*Ability to frequently lift and move items weighing over 50 pounds. Education and Experience Requirements
*High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED)
*Minimum 2 years of composite experience in an aircraft, automotive, or similar environment is preferred.
*Must have no known allergy to epoxy agents and have the ability to become certified to wear a respirator
