Job Profile The Maintenance Technician, Level II position is located in Van Nuys, CA and plays a key role in performing advanced troubleshooting, inspections, and repairs on aircraft systems. With a minimum of three years of relevant experience and proficiency in mechanical and electrical systems, this technician works independently on assigned projects, assists other technicians with guidance, and supports the development of safe practices.
This role requires a strong understanding of inspection methods in accordance with AMM criteria, an ability to prioritize work scope, and knowledge of forms and processes for Part 135/145 operations. The Maintenance Technician, Level II, works in a collaborative aircraft maintenance environment, independently performing advanced troubleshooting and inspection tasks. This role includes assisting and mentoring other technicians while ensuring safety and compliance across all projects.

Your responsibilities:
- Perform general mechanical functions on aircraft and related systems, including removal and installation of panels and components.
- Troubleshoot and resolve advanced mechanical and electrical issues on aircraft systems.
- Conduct thorough inspections, identify discrepancies, and recommend appropriate corrective actions in accordance with AMM criteria.
- Independently manage and prioritize assigned maintenance projects while ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Perform and assist with aircraft movement, including engine ground runs and taxiing operations, as approved.
- Guide and support other maintenance technicians by providing knowledge on best/safe practices, proper tool usage, and adherence to company policies.
- Ensure accurate and timely input of corrective actions and log entries into Corridor software in compliance with FAR Part 43.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of forms and documentation as required by Part 135/145 operator/air carrier manuals and repair station manuals.
- Work closely with the Chief Inspector to begin the qualification process for inspection certifications and responsibilities.
- Assist in maintaining and/or repairing shop facilities, equipment, and tooling to support maintenance operations.
- Competent in all tasks performed by Level I technicians and provide oversight to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Assist lead technicians and supervisors with any other work-related tasks, as needed.
Required Experience, Qualifications, and Education:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant aircraft maintenance experience.
- Certified under Title 14 CFR Part 65 (Airframe and Powerplant license required).
- Advanced troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electrical systems on aircraft.
- Strong understanding of inspection methods and the ability to categorize discrepancies and corrective actions per AMM criteria.
- Competency in independently prioritizing and managing assigned projects while adhering to safety and regulatory guidelines.
- Knowledgeable in the use of required forms and documentation for Part 135/145 operator/air carrier manuals and repair station manuals.
- Ability to perform aircraft engine ground runs as approved.
- Experience assisting and mentoring other technicians with best practices and policy adherence.
- Beginning the process of working with the Chief Inspector for inspection qualifications.
- Familiarity and proficiency with aircraft and engine maintenance manuals.
- Proficient in performing tasks independently while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Ability to input maintenance data and log entries into Corridor software in accordance with FAR Part 43 requirements.
- Ability to manage high stress situations, and effectively change priorities
- Excellent time management and organization skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in the use of maintenance reference materials including Manufacturers Maintenance Manuals, Structural Repair Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogs, Component Manuals, etc.
- Experience using CMP and CAMP maintenance tracking programs a plus
- Must be proficient in the operation of standard office equipment and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
- Valid Driver’s License with no major infractions.
- A complete set of tools designed for or appropriate for aircraft maintenance.
- Knowledge and implementation of a shadow box to minimize risk and FOD (Foreign Object Debris).
- Successful completion of employment drug screening, an FBI fingerprinting check, and a 10-year background check.

The salary range for this position is $30 to $60 per hour.
