PRIMARY FUNCTION
Aircraft Mech III Troubleshoot malfunctions, repair, and modify, aircraft electrical and electrical components.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
•    Responsible for quality of aircraft, aircraft component, component repair and overhaul
•    Responsible for procedural compliance of Services directives and standards. Inspects Company areas for housekeeping, safety, and environmental regulatory compliance
•    Performs technical inspections of aircraft, aircraft components and equipment
•    Performs quality technical inspection of aircraft, aircraft components, parts, repairs, and systems (including avionics, electrical, instrument and armament) as required by functional assignment
•    Performs quality and safety inspections of on-site equipment and tools used in aircraft maintenance
•    Performs initial, in-progress and final quality technical inspections during maintenance, repair, modification, rework, and overhaul of aircraft, aircraft components, and component parts
•    Maintains aircraft forms and records using the Optimized Naval Aviation Logistic Management Information System (OOMA)
•    May be required to perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization
 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will provide oversight to the lower grade mechanics on a daily basis. 

Job Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

•    Ability to enter data accurately into databases.
•    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
•    Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
•    Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff. 
•    Will also routinely interact with external contacts such as customers, vendors, suppliers, shipping companies, etc.
•    Must be trustworthy – will handle confidential information routinely
•    Ability to follow a process.
•    Excellent analytical skills with the ability to evaluate data and consider decision impact across multiple areas.
•    Strong decision analysis and problem-solving skills; ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions. 
•    Must be able to work independently and stay on task with minimal supervision
•    Ability to multi-task.
•    Must be able to communicate utilizing the English Language.
•    Must be able to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Six (6) years' minimum experience as a Collateral Duty Inspector on Military Aircraft or 6 years IA Experience
•    Be skill qualified in a primary MOS from any of the following OccFlds: 6113/6173, Aircraft Maintenance, equivalent skill designation from other services or possess valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certification.
•    Knowledgeable of ANSI/ISO/ASQ Q9001-2000 quality management systems requirements
