Job Title: Sheet Metal Mechanic- Must be able to pass ITAR requirements - US Citizenship required.
- Must have prior aviation / aerospace sheetmetal experience to be considered.
- Mon-Fri: Day shift 0500 - 1530, Night shift 1530 - 0130.
Job Description- Fabricates and assembles sheet metal parts and finished products from work orders, blueprints, and drawings.
- Performs operations such as drilling, trimming, filing, grinding, and assembling parts in jigs with holding fixtures involving several location points to exacting tolerances.
- Aligns assemblies before and after welding to ensure parts remain in direct location to each other and achieve proper contour to exacting tolerances.
- Checks planning sequence of work operations and submits corrections and suggestions to the Team Lead for approval.
- Determines acceptable weld appearance and understands shrinkage problems to compensate for this condition.
- Performs rework, repair, and other associated operations.
- Selects the correct welding rod, location, and processes required to tack weld metal parts by following established shop practice, verbal, or written instructions.
- Sets up assemblies to determine if the parts are properly fitted prior to welding.
