Job Description:

Advanced Aviation Group, located in Middle River, MD and Frederick, MD has immediate openings for a full-time Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic, preferably with Inspection Authorization at Frederick Municipal Airport (KFDK) and at our satellite location at Martin State Airport (KMTN).  

We operate a wide variety of aircraft including Piper Archer, Arrow and Aztec, Cessna 152, 172, Diamond DA-40, Citabria, TL lightsport and Icon Amphibious. We also operate a separate Part 145 Repair Station performing work on Robinson R-22, Robinson R-44 and Bell 206 helicopters. We will perform routine maintenance on a wide variety of customer owned GA aircraft.  Advanced Aviation Group has an established relationship with a local community college, providing flight instruction in support of their aviation program.  Our students come from very diverse backgrounds including veterans, local students, and people from outside the area seeking accelerated certificates.  Advanced Aviation Group also has a second facility located at Martin State Airport including a maintenance shop.

The mechanic is responsible for supporting the safe, legal, and economical maintenance operation of company and customer aircraft to the highest standards. This position requires knowledge of 14 CFR Part 91 operations.

  • Reports to Accountable Manager
  • Coordinates with Managers and office staff daily to ensure company aircraft are maintained in accordance with all required scheduled maintenance.
  • Technicians work in a team environment with other technicians. Troubleshoot, repair, inspect and perform maintenance on owned and managed fleet, and customer and transient aircraft in accordance with applicable technical data Airworthiness Directives, Service Letters, Service Bulletins and FAA regulations.
  • Work directly with aircraft owners regarding aircraft maintenance.
  • Ensures that manufacturer maintenance programs are followed in inspecting and repairing all aircraft, including completion of all applicable checklists for the completion of scheduled maintenance.
  • Is responsible for maintaining maintenance records to FAA standards on all aircraft managed, owned and operated.
  • While not a Part 145 Repair Station, maintenance will be conducted and documented per the Advanced Helicopter Concepts Repair Station Manual and Quality Control Manual.
  • Provide documentation of discrepancies, work performed, labor hours and parts utilized to office staff to ensure accurate and timely billing.
  • Research and order parts to maintain appropriate inventory of consumable parts. Maintain inventory of parts on hand.
  • Establishes and maintains a close working relationship with the FAA’s Principal Maintenance Inspector having certificate responsibility over the company’s air carrier operations.
  • Stays up to date on regulatory and industry developments as they pertain to aircraft maintenance and avionics techniques.
Job Requirements:
  • While not required, it is desirable that the mechanic possesses a personal set of tools appropriate to the type of aircraft operated by the department.
  • Special tools are company provided.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, interpersonal skills.
  • Great situational awareness, job planning and scheduling.
  • Working knowledge of MS office computer software.
  • Positive can do team attitude, great communication skills, both written and verbal
