The Avionics Maintenance Technician performs maintenance on aircraft avionics components and electrical systems components, such as airborne navigation/communication systems, weather radar, autopilot, compass systems and accessories in accordance with MFG specifications and FAA guidelines.

Job Duties:

  • Troubleshoots to determine malfunctions on aircraft avionics components and electrical systems components, such as airborne navigation/communication systems, weather radar, autopilot, compass systems and accessories component level.
  • Uses all mandated safety equipment and complies with all safety requirements in accordance with company and government regulations and guidelines.
  • Completes all checklists, forms and reports as required in accordance with the company, government and FAA regulations and guidelines.
  • Participates in on-the-job training with onsite personnel.
  • Test and troubleshoot instruments, components, and assemblies, using circuit testers, or voltmeters.
  • Keep and maintain records of maintenance and repair work.
  • Lay out installation of aircraft assemblies and systems, following documentation such as blueprints, manuals, and wiring diagrams.
  • Assists co-workers and those in other departments to successfully perform job tasks and functions when necessary.  

Basic Qualifications

  • Must have FAA A&P License.
  • Experience in analyzing and developing troubleshooting plans is a must.
  • Experienced in one or more of the following system disciplines:   Powerplant; CF6-80A & CF6-80C2 engine experience.
  • Must have at least eighteen (18) months of practical experience operating as a Licensed A&P Mechanic. 
  • Must be able to read and interpret wiring diagrams.
  • Must be able to read and write English.  
  • Must pass airport security background checks and travel for work as required.  
  • He/she must hold the appropriate licenses.  
  • Shall possess the knowledge and ability necessary to perform routine and other work required.  
  • Maintains adequate knowledge to understand and follow the repair facility’s inspection procedures manual.
  • Ability to frequently be required to stand, walk, continually utilize hand and finger dexterity, climb, balance, bend, or crawl; occasionally from height and in precarious places.  
  • Be able to frequently lift/push/carry items less than 25 pounds/ up to 25 pounds/ up to 50 pounds/ more than 50 pounds. 
  • Aware he/she will be working near moving mechanical parts as well as around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals while exposed to loud noises.
  • Utilize visual acuity to operate equipment and read technical information.
  • Be exposed to weather conditions outside as well as non-weather conditions such as extreme heat or cold.   

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must have good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.  
  • Exhibits positive, courteous behavior with customers, businesses, and co-workers.  
  • 767 line maintenance, preferably.
