Opportunity to join a dynamic, established, and growing Part 145 Repair station strategically located in the Inland Empire seeking an equally dynamic and results oriented individual to fill this position. The Chief Inspector is responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturer specifications, and repair station procedures regarding the maintenance and inspection of aircraft, engines, and components. This role serves as the focal point for quality assurance, inspection processes, and regulatory compliance within the FAA Part 145 Repair Station

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the repair station complies with all FAA regulations under FAR Part 145, including adherence to airworthiness standards, maintenance procedures, and documentation requirements.
  • Inspection Oversight: Supervise the inspection of incoming, in-process, and completed maintenance activities on aircraft, engines, and components to ensure conformity with specifications and airworthiness directives (ADs).
  • Record-Keeping & Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed maintenance records, logbooks, and inspection documentation, ensuring they meet FAA, manufacturer, and company requirements.
  • Auditing & Surveillance: Conduct periodic audits of the repair station’s procedures, tools, and equipment to ensure ongoing compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Quality Control: Develop and implement inspection procedures, quality control measures, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure high standards of workmanship.
  • Personnel Management: Oversee and train inspection personnel, ensuring they are competent, qualified, and adhere to all regulations. Conduct performance evaluations and ensure proper certification is maintained.
  • Coordination with FAA: Act as the primary point of contact with the FAA regarding inspections, audits, and regulatory matters. Address any non-conformities or issues raised by the FAA in a timely and effective manner.
  • Incident Investigation: Investigate any discrepancies, non-conformities, or defects in repaired or maintained components. Initiate corrective action processes when required.
  • Airworthiness Determination: Make final determinations on the airworthiness of aircraft and components before they are released to service, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and technical data.
  • Safety and Compliance Programs: Implement safety and compliance programs to ensure that all repair station operations are performed in a safe and compliant manner.
Job Requirements:
  • FAA Certifications: Must hold a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, with at least 2 years in an inspector role, with a strong preference for prior experience working in a Part 145 repair station.
  • Knowledge & Skills: In-depth knowledge of FAA regulations, FAR Part 145, and other aviation-related requirements (e.g., FAR Part 43, Part 45), and possessing a strong technical understanding of aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, and inspection techniques.
  • Proficient in using maintenance tracking and documentation systems.
    Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with attention to detail and manage multiple priorities.
    Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying environmental conditions.
  • Experience in dealing with FAA audits and certification processes.
  • Additional certifications or training in quality management and safety programs are highly desirable.
