Job Description:

Composite Fabricator and general technician position. Fabrication and repair of composites and other shop related tasks as required. Fabricate and repair composite parts and aircraft using various techniques and types of materials, composites trimming and bonding, part assembly, body working, general aviation maintenance and other tasks as required.

Duties:

Performs all duties required to fabricate, repair, and integrate composite and other parts and assemblies Tasks may include but not limited to:

  • Construct wet lay-up of Carbon and Fiberglass using various methods such as vacuum bagging and non-bagged parts and assemblies.
  • Performs part fitting operations such as trimming, filing, sanding, sawing, drilling, deburring, riveting, and reaming.
  • Ability to construct Molds or 1 off parts as required in repair and construction of aircraft.
  • Bonds and assembles a variety of materials (composites, aluminum etc.) and parts to complete sub-assemblies and structures.
  • Preps and applies required body filler and bodyworks as required.
  • Applies Primer and Paint when required.
  • Completes Work Orders and Timesheets.
  • Monitors and verifies quality of finished part.
  • Identifies and corrects conditions that affect employee safety.
  • Clean and organize shops and other areas as required. 
Job Requirements:
  • Must be qualified to work in the US with a clear background.
  • A&P Certificate preferred, not required.
  • Fabrication experience, manufacturing experience, or experience in aviation construction and maintenance is beneficial.
  • Must have Quality Workmanship with an eye for detail.
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, manuals, and written and verbal instructions.
  • Outstanding work ethic and commitment to successfully completing jobs and assignments, personally and as a part of a team.
  • Proficiency with or willingness to learn to operate various shop equipment and hand tools including cutting and grinding tools.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a shop environment and use required shop and personal safety equipment to work in a safe manner. 
  • Quality workmanship with an eye for detail. 
  • Confident to work in confined space for extended periods of time.
  • Open availability to work shifts if required.
  • Open to traveling if required.
  • Open to working Overtime.
  • Able to pass drug tests and background checks.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for periods of up to two hours, walk and repetitively use hands to fingers to operate a computer and tools. The employee will also be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or step up on a step stool. Climb stairs, or ladder to place parts. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms.

The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close and color vision to identify different parts and labels and scribe lines.
