Works closely with other mechanics and maintenance personnel on aircraft structural modifications, upgrades, and repairs. Locates cracks, breaks, holes, and dents in aircraft sheet metal structures and determines appropriate repairs from technical data to restore components to original strength. Identifies damaged or weakened structures, including skins, stringers, bulkheads, and ribs and develops appropriate repair plan to restore component airworthiness. Reads and interprets blueprints and determines dimensions, angles, and contours in performance of structural repair.
What you will be responsible for:
Reports on work order status to the Lead Mechanic.
Heavy Depot Level Maintenance, Repair and modification of the aircraft structure and major subassemblies.
Plan, lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and repair various sheet metal and structural assemblies and sub-assemblies utilizing precision measuring equipment.
Must be able to read and speak English. Comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Exposed to repetitive movements and work overhead. Required to use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
Ensures all work is done according to specification, regulation, and company policy.
Ensures that all tools and associated equipment are 100 accounted for.
Responds to work orders in a timely manner with emphasis on operations support.
Able to communicate effectively and work well as a member of a team
Assists with other duties as required to support the customer and mission.
Conducts oneself professionally through appearance and conduct.
