Job Description:

PRIMARY FUNCTION The Flight Engineer performs aircraft pre-flight, through-flight, and post-flight duties, ensuring the aircraft is properly serviced and maintained to safely and effectively execute the mission.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

•    Maintain required currencies in all assigned aircraft.
•    Be thoroughly trained in aircraft maintenance, aircraft servicing, weight and balance, cold weather procedures, and passenger care.
•    Analyze in-flight anomalies and recommend corrective actions.
•    Record data for briefing ground personnel in troubleshooting anomalies.
•    Serve as a crew member for flight operations, especially during pre-flight, take-off, climb, descent, landing, and post-landing.
•    Assist in reading checklists and watching for aircraft traffic.
•    Highly knowledgeable about aircraft limits and emergency procedures.
•    Perform in-flight duties involving passenger safety aboard assigned aircraft to include safety briefings, proper stowage of passenger/crew luggage, and in-flight passenger service.
•    Skilled in passenger emergency operations to include emergency egress procedures and medical emergencies.
•    Knowledgeable about international flight requirements and customs procedures.
•    The Flight Engineer may be required to perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

•    Beginner to intermediate computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs. Working knowledge of advanced software applications is preferred.
•    Ability to enter data accurately into databases.
•    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
•    Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
•    Interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff. Will also routinely interact with other crew members.
•    Must possess effective oral and technical written communication skills to clearly communicate information to others.
•    Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, scanner, printers, etc.
•    Ability to follow a process.
•    Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up.
•    Strong decision analysis and problem solving skills. Ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions. Must be able to communicate issues to management.
•    Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to Yulista Solutions, LLC goals.
•    Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
•    High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
•    Ability to multi-task.


QUALIFICATIONS: 
•    Bachelor’s Degree in related area.
•    1+ year current, relevant aviation experience supporting a NASA/DoD contract (pilot, flight engineer, remote piloted vehicle sensor operator).
•    Not less than 500 hours of flight engineer time, of which, 100 hours must be in the same aircraft category and shall be qualified in the mission, type, design and series.
•    Must hold a valid current FAA or military Class III Medical Certificate.
•    Must initially pass contractor or military evaluation and pass annually thereafter.
•    Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.
