This is a full-time position that will report to the Director of Maintenance. The Maintenance Controller is responsible for the efficient and economical coordination of Maintenance Operations with the authority to provide technical assistance to guide and advise personnel during troubleshooting and while performing maintenance. This will be done in accordance with the GMM, Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM), the Maintenance Inspection Program (MIP), and FAA Regulations. Maintenance Controllers report to the Supervisor and/or Manager of Maintenance Control. The position interacts with the Director of Quality Assurance, the company’s Flight Mechanics, other Quality auditors, the Director of Maintenance, and the Vice President of Maintenance and Engineering. The successful candidate will have a high level of integrity and exhibit the values and culture of the company while working with the maintenance team and other company team members in a fast-paced/dynamic environment.
- Provide Dispatch with the continuing status of all Line Aircraft, including Delays & DMI/MEL items for flight planning purposes and flight crew information.
- Maintain and Revise the FAA Approved Eastern Air Express Minimum Equipment Lists for all aircraft, and provide such lists on a daily basis to the DOQ and the DOM.
- Control and issue control numbers and complete the necessary paperwork for DMI/MEL, CDL, MOCs, and robbed parts.
- Monitor Aircraft Logbook discrepancies for SDR reportable events and consult with MOC to confirm.
- Ensure all SDR reportable discrepancies are entered in the Aircraft Logbook. (e.g., Non- Routine Work Card discrepancies).
- Coordinate Non-revenue Special Flights in accordance with GMM Chapter 5, Section 5.7).
- In the event of an incident or accident, be responsible for notifying the proper Maintenance Supervisory Personnel, (CEO DOM, DOQ, etc.), and ensure that a Preliminary Incident/Accident Report is completed.
- Maintain a detailed Maintenance Control Shift Turnover Log (GMM-Chapter 5).
- Assist Maintenance Planning for the scheduling and compliance of daily maintenance and/or inspection requirements.
- Notify Maintenance Providers (MP) when scheduled maintenance plans must be delayed or altered.
- Coordinate with ordering and shipment of parts and materials to Maintenance Stations.
- Perform additional tasks as specified in GMM Chapter 6, CASS.
- Other duties as assigned by the Manager/Supervisor of Maintenance Control or Director of Maintenance Control
