Located in Irvine, CA, PCC Rollmet specializes in development and manufacture of Defense and Missile related products. Operations at the Irvine location include: Internal and external pipe extrusions, CNC Machining, manual machining, EB Welding, quality inspection, Heat Treating, and NDT.

Position Summary:

Without supervision, level three maintenance electrician perform advanced maintenance and repair tasks on electrical systems such as calibrating furnace controls, test instruments, and chart recorders, as well as conduct furnace pre-surveys. Level three electrician demonstrate advanced trouble shooting skills working with electrical equipment and systems such as VFD&39;s, burner systems and VAR systems. Level three maintenance electrician also provide leadership and mentoring to level one and two maintenance electricians and may be required to oversee licensed and contracted electrical work at the plant level. An electrician is to be certified and able to complete tasks from low voltage, i.e., wiring a wall outlet to high voltage, i.e. wiring an 800-amp machine connection. Ability to read blueprints and perform work in line with electrical building codes. Provides specific responsibility for identifying repair/replacement needs; installing, repairing, and upgrading electrical system and equipment/ typically requires machine shop experience working with machines and their specific electrical needs. Must be a US citizen to be in the position.

  • Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
  • Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers to diagnose malfunction and make required repairs.
  • Replaces faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.
  • Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain control systems. This includes all electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic controls.
  • Troubleshoot and repair all AC and DC motors and controls, pressure sensing devices, voltage current, and resistance measurement devices.
  • Troubleshoot and repair plant lighting 480V, 277V and 110V circuits; 480V cranes; PLC based controls and relay logic circuits.
  • Knowledgeable about motor control
  • Monitor furnace status and light furnaces.
  • Trains and oversees electrical projects as directed by supervisory personnel.
  • Installs power supply wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus for newly installed machines, equipment, and buildings.
  • Connects power supply wires to machines/equipment and connects cables/wires between machines/equipment.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
  • Pushes buttons and presses keys on controllers, teach pendant, and programmable controllers to program automated machinery to test for malfunctions, and to verify repairs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of Company.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Experience & Education

  • Must be able to work rotating shifts
  • Must hold a MA journeyman or a Master Electrician license
  • GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $25 to $38 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays.
