Summary Coordinate and perform maintenance on all equipment, vehicles, forklifts, grounds and buildings. Essential Functions - Adheres to plant and department safety rules, safely operate all equipment and tools, identifies and reports safety problems and corrects when possible.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic issues on production equipment.
- Routine servicing of forklift trucks powered by battery, propane and diesel engines.
- Ability to inspect, diagnose and repair all engine types while maintaining organized records of service and repairs.
- Must follow all stipulated industry safety regulations and standards of working.
- Willingness to conduct training activities for subordinates when necessary.
- Maintaining inventory of spare parts and placing necessary orders.
- Ensuring the proper handling of all testing and repair tools.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Two (2) years’ experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment preferred. Competencies Prior experience maintaining production equipment through regularly scheduled PM’s. Experience operating forklifts preferred. Must have attention to detail, including basic math skills with the ability to add and subtract accurately. Proficient in the basic use of a computer to facilitate the entry and completion of work orders. Able to use basic hand tools. Must physically be able to frequently lift up to 35 Lbs. with frequent bending. Ability to multi-task with shifting priorities and multiple interruptions. Establish and maintain proper relationships with vendors. Must be willing to work shifts and overtime as needed, including 12-hour shifts. Performs other related duties as assigned.
