TITLE: Maintenance manager of Training
REPORTS TO: Director of Maintenance
OVERVIEW:
The Maintenance Training Instructor is responsible for analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating technical training programs to ensure regulatory compliance and safety for internal and external maintenance teams. This includes Aircraft Maintenance Technicians, Maintenance Providers, Maintenance Leadership, Maintenance Controllers, Supply Chain Operations, and Crew Operations. The instructor will ensure that departmental training courses align with the GlobalX General Maintenance Manual (GMM), Continuous Airworthiness Surveillance System (CASS), or Maintenance Training Manual (MTM). The objective is to equip new employees with the skills to perform job tasks effectively and understand their department&39;s functions. Additionally, the instructor will focus on building human-factor-based training and assisting with the development of departmental writing standards and operational procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Policy and Compliance Analysis: Analyze policies and procedures, as well as updates in FAA and OSHA regulations, to distinguish between performance gaps and training needs. Establish instructional goals and objectives based on these analyses and present findings to department leadership for evaluation. Assess existing knowledge and skills among learners and determine curriculum needs, learning environment, and appropriate training delivery methods.
- Curriculum Design and Development: Design human-factor-based learning programs, building comprehensive content that includes assessments, exercises, multimedia materials, lesson plans, schedules, and syllabuses. Ensure a systematic approach to curriculum development and maintain clear communication with departmental subject matter experts to confirm clarity and consistency of training materials.
- Instructional Technology and Project Management: Utilize a variety of authoring technologies to create engaging learning experiences. Demonstrate strong project management skills, including planning, detailed organization, multitasking, time management, and delivering results. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to develop and refine training programs.
- Technical and Safety Training: Provide maintenance leadership and technicians with accurate and timely training solutions, addressing technical training needs and safety issues. Coordinate with various departments to ensure that training programs meet company orientation, airworthiness release, initial and recurrent training, and safety standards.
- Advisory and Instructional Role: Train and advise internal team members and external vendors on safety practices, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness. Ensure that training programs are comprehensive and align with company and regulatory requirements.
- A320 Family Expertise: Develop and deliver training courses specific to the A320 Family of aircraft, ensuring that technicians gain the necessary technical expertise.
- New Hire and Maintenance Provider Training: Design courses that provide new hires or transfer personnel with basic indoctrination into GlobalX maintenance operations. Extend training to Maintenance Providers to cover essential GlobalX Airlines policies and procedures.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Familiarity with FAA-H-8083-9 Aviation Instructors Handbook, preferred.
- Familiarity with computer programs such as Power Point, Adobe Captivate, MINT TMS and other training aids/formats for displaying training information.
- Extensive technical knowledge of aircraft systems, flight operations, and applicable FAA regulations.
- Excellent working knowledge of Crew Resource Management and Threat and Error Management skills.
- Must possess training courseware development skills.
- Ability to participate in two-line flight segments annually.
- Computer literate
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent command of the English language
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to be flexible as schedule varies, 24/7 operations with Holidays/Weekends/Shift work, occasional short notice call out.
- Able to work 5 days per week, 8 hours per day.
