Job Description 1

Title: CMM-NDT Operator

Status: Hourly

Shift: 1st 4am-2pm Sun-Wed

Location: Mentor

Reports To: Reports directly to Dept. 690 Supervisor

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and may be substituted by experience.

Personal Characteristics: Able to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality/quantity. Able to work flexible hours with a history of dependability as demonstrated with strong attendance record. Comfortable using a team approach to problem solving. Have strong sense of urgency. Individual must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors.

Work Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience as an operator in a manufacturing environment. Previous casting experience is a plus. Must be familiar with standard quality assurance instruments and gages.

Principal Area of Responsibility: Dimensional inspector must be capable of using CMM’s and gages assigned to his/her job title proficiently and accurately.

Specific Duties:

Operate CMM for inspection of all production and development metal castings and wax patterns.
Dimensional inspect castings in either the wax, rough, or final condition using the following:
- Shroud and root gages
- Guillotine gages
- Stock gages
- DO gages
Indicators and micrometers that indicate all dimensions required by P.E.I. specification.
Utilize metal removal equipment or straightening equipment to bring parts to gage acceptance.
Scrap and rework reports, gage and record as necessary.
Keep gages clean after use.
Finishing/NDT responsibilities when needed.
Follow all safety rules.
Perform other duties as are designated by the supervisor.
