Job Description:

Spur Aviation Services, LC is a Part 135 company based in Twin Falls, Idaho. Our specialty is providing first response Air Attack aircraft in support of Wild Land Fire Fighting Operations in the summer. We are offering immediate openings for A&P and IA mechanics. As a certified aircraft mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and servicing Turbine and Piston powered aircraft throughout the year. Work during fire season (summer) will include travel, some overnights, and working on the aircraft outside. All maintenance outside of fire season will be performed inside our home base hangars in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Job Requirements:
  • Airframe & Powerplant Certificate
  • Aircraft maintenance experience (two year minimum preferred)
  • Come prepared with a basic assortment of industry standard tools
  • Work well as part of a team
  • Communicate with fellow workers in a constructive manner
  • Work flexible hours during fire season and be on-call at various times
  • Accomplish maintenance in an outdoor environment during fire season
  • Some traveling and overnight stays during the fire season. 

Desired but not required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Pilots License 
  • Inspection Authorized (IA) rating
  • Twin Commander maintenance experience
  • Pilatus PC-12 Experience 
  • Garrett TPE331, Pratt & Whitney PT6A engine maintenance experience (or any turboprop engine maintenance experience)

Responsibilities:

  • Typical maintenance operations, such as removal and replacement of aircraft and power plant components in accordance with Company Maintenance SOP, Manufacturer/OEM approved data
  • Troubleshoot, repair, clean, service, inspect, modify, replace, overhaul aircraft and aircraft systems using approved data to ensure airworthiness
  • Follow all applicable specifications to accomplish each specific task
  • Develop work plans and meet schedule estimates
  • Follow all safety procedures and specifications
  • Complete all required paperwork, maintain proficient records of repairs
  • Use and operate all equipment in a safe manner
  • Communicate effectively with management and team members
  • Requires flexible schedule, traveling, working nights and weekends when the job requires (during fire season).
