Job Description:

The primary responsibilities of the IA Floor Inspector are a key member of our maintenance team responsible for inspecting aircraft and providing inspection guidance on all aspects of aircraft maintenance; determining equipment malfunctions on the shop floor prior to the final return to service. The ideal candidate exercises strong judgment and demonstrates a commitment to the success of the company by positively supporting the company’s directives and objectives. 

Essential Responsibilities/ Duties: 

  • Ensure all maintenance work is carried out to the highest quality standards, meeting both company and regulatory requirements.  
  • Inspects aircraft repairs and alterations on the shop floor to return the aircraft to airworthiness.  
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot aircraft systems and components to identify and rectify issues promptly. 
  • Reviews and assists in interpreting FAA data and documentation, airworthiness directives, FAR’S, Advisory Circulars, etc.  
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive hardcopy and digital records of all maintenance and repair activities in compliance with regulatory requirements.  
  • Signs off on various inspections accordingly per the 145 Repair Station.  
  • Determine if any alterations to the plan and schedule are necessary to ensure that tasks are completed within budget.  
  • Ensure tasks are signed off and completed within the agreed timeframe.  
  • Assist with training and development coordination.  
  • Other duties or responsibilities as assigned by your Manager.

Job Requirements:
  • Must hold a current valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant License (A&P) with no history of infractions. IA certification preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of aircraft mechanical inspection experience.
  • Minimum of five years experience having direct involvement with 145 policies and procedures.
  • Avionics experience preferred.
  • Ability to work with little supervision to troubleshoot, inspect, and repair systems on aircraft airframe and engine(s), including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic.
  • Must be able to read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals and specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
  • Knowledge of the FAA certification process.  
  • Must live in close proximity to Allentown, PA, and/or Hazleton, PA.
  • Able to pass a background check/drug & alcohol test.
  • Must be able to work any shift, days, nights, and weekends.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Ability to frequently lift up to 10 lbs., occasionally lift up to 25 lbs., and rarely lift up to 50 lbs.  
  • Ability to reach, bend, twist, and squat in order to perform duties of the job. 
  • Ability to sit at a desk for long periods of time while performing job functions. 
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements for data entry. 
  • Ability to work on a computer throughout the day.
