Duties & Responsibilities
Quality Control Inspector is responsible to the Lead Inspector for all inspection duties assigned. Each inspector, with the scope of their experience, is responsible and has the authority for one or more of the following:
 
Duties
  • Inspection of items critical to the safety of flight as defined by the RSM/Quality Control Manual.  Inspectors will have sign off authority within the work order system.
  • Ensuring that they are thoroughly familiar with the inspection methods, techniques, aids, tools, and equipment used within their assigned area of responsibility.Understanding the current specifications involving inspection tolerances, limitations, and procedures established by the manufacturer of the article(s) being inspected.Meet the qualifications of the Repair Station Manual
  • Ensure all inspections are properly performed and recorded, and all reports are properly executed before final approval for return to service of articles maintained or altered by this repair station.
  • Authority for inspection and final approval for return to service of aircraft, air frames, aircraft engines, or component parts within the scope of repair station certification authority to include final return to service sign off in Block 7 of FAA Form 337 and 8130-3 Maintenance Release Tags.
  • Perform look-phase inspection (Inspection Checklists) portion of the maintenance scope and write accurate and complete discrepancies and resolutions on company work forms as assigned.
  • Ensuring that the inspection tools and equipment, including inspection aids, used to perform inspections are in proper working order and the proper calibration information is affixed.
  • Perform inspection of maintenance and discrepancy corrective action performed by repair station personnel as assigned.
  • Proper execution of inspection and maintenance records, reports and/or forms in accordance with FAR Part 43 and repair station manual instructions.Assure that precision tools and test equipment used for product acceptance are in calibration prior to use.
  • Ensure that only serviceable and airworthy approved parts are installed as part of the maintenance performed by the repair station.
  • Maintaining proficiency in using the inspection aids in their assigned area of responsibility.
  • Perform preliminary, hidden damage and final inspection on aircraft and related components maintained by the repair station as assigned.
  • Provide for continuity of inspection by completing required reports in the shop turnover book for inspections on other shifts.
  • Assure the proper tagging of all parts during the repair process to prevent improper use of rejected and non-serviceable parts.
  • Make entries into maintenance logs and work orders IAW FAR Part 43 and Operator/Air Carrier manuals.
  • Any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Director of Quality.
Job Requirements:
A&P Licence
ASNT Certification, Level 2 Preferred
Minimum 5 years of QC experience in heavy and/or line maintenance
Read, write, speak, and understand the English language at professional working proficiency
B737, B757, and/or A321 experience preferred
Provide training records
