Job Summary: The Quality Inspector Level II is responsible for ensuring that products and materials meet established quality standards. This role involves performing detailed inspections, documenting findings, and working closely with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues. The Quality Inspector Level II also plays a key role in maintaining compliance with industry regulations and internal quality control procedures.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Inspection and Testing:

  • Perform detailed inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products using a variety of measuring tools and equipment.
  • Conduct functional and dimensional testing to ensure products meet specifications.
  • Interpret and apply engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications during inspections.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Document inspection results, including deviations from quality standards, and maintain accurate records of findings.
  • Generate detailed inspection reports and communicate results to relevant departments.
  • Ensure all quality control documentation is completed accurately and timely.

Non-Conformance Management:

  • Identify non-conforming materials and products and initiate corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities for quality-related issues.

Compliance and Standards:

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, customer specifications, and internal quality control procedures.
  • Stay updated on relevant quality standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, AS9100, etc.).
  • Participate in internal and external audits as required.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality control processes and procedures.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for improving quality control methods and processes.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency.

Equipment Calibration:

  • Perform routine calibration of inspection and measuring equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Maintain calibration records and schedule regular calibration activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to equipment calibration and functionality.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in using measuring tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMMs).
  • Strong understanding of quality control principles and practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in quality control or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in quality inspection or a related role in a manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials and products up to 30 pounds.
  • Visual acuity to perform detailed inspections.

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing and production floor environment.
  • Exposure to noise, mist, and other elements typical of a manufacturing setting.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, as needed.
