Job Description

Working in an MRO environment, the Structures Technician will disassemble, repair, fabricate parts as necessary, reassemble, install, and document maintenance actions on heavy-lift helicopters, primarily Boeing CH-47 airframes (Model 107, Model 234 firefighting, and heavy lift utility). This role primarily supports full rebuilds and sometimes supports fleet heavy maintenance checks.

Responsibilities

  • Review task cards and read and interpret maintenance manuals and blueprints.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and machine tools to remove, inspect, fabricate replacement parts, repair, reassemble, and document maintenance actions.
  • Frequently remove and install standard and blind rivets, drilling/reaming/riveting to close tolerance.
Essential Skills
  • 4+ years of experience in aircraft sheet metal structures repair.
  • Experience fabricating parts.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and machine tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals and blueprints.
  • Experience with standard and blind rivets, drilling, reaming, and riveting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience repairing structures of CH-47 airframes preferred.
  • Must be a US Person per client ITAR regulations.
  • Willingness to submit to testing on the first day, including installing fasteners, proper countersink depth, precise drilling, and measuring bend dimensions with an understanding of Bend Allowance or Bend Deduction.

Work Environment

The work environment consists of heavy lift helicopter fleet MRO and rebuild hangars. Initially, the schedule will be 5 days a week (8am - 4:30pm) for several weeks, then transitioning to a 4-day schedule (6am - 4:30pm), either Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday.
