We are seeking a skilled Structures Mechanic to perform heavy maintenance on ATR turboprop aircraft operated by an air cargo carrier. The role involves receiving task cards, reading blueprints, identifying necessary tools, performing repairs or installations, and submitting work for inspection. The position requires proficiency in drilling, reaming, riveting with close tolerance using standard and blind/pop rivets like HI-Loks, and basic fabrication tasks. Additional duties include corrosion control and fabricating and installing stringers and doublers. This is a 6+ month contract with a definite opportunity for permanent placement if desired.

Responsibilities

  • Perform heavy maintenance on ATR turboprop aircraft.
  • Read blueprints and identify necessary tools for tasks.
  • Execute repairs and installations as required.
  • Submit completed work for inspection.
  • Drill, ream, and rivet to close tolerance using standard and blind/pop rivets.
  • Perform basic fabrication tasks and quality checks.
  • Control corrosion and fabricate/install stringers and doublers.
  • Participate in the modification of ATR72-700 aircraft and standard C-checks for the fleet.
Essential Skills
  • 5+ years of aircraft structural repair or fabrication experience.
  • Proficiency in drilling, reaming, countersinking, and riveting sheet metal from blueprints.
  • Ability to pass a basic structures fabrication test.
  • Experience in Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) is highly preferred but not required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Must possess a set of tools including Drill Motor, Countersink Cage/Microstop, Rivet Gun, Rivet Sets, 1/4" Ratchet and Sockets, Grinder, Machinists Scale/Rule, and Clecos.

Work Environment
  • Work in an insulated hangar MRO with shops, break room, and tool crib all in the same building.
  • The schedule includes 5-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, with a 2nd shift running from 1530 to 0200.
  • Please note that this is a new shift and there may be slight adjustments to the times.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $44.00 - $52.00/hr.
