Job Description:
  • Research FAA technical data to locate applicable data relevant to assigned tasks and have a complete understanding of and be able to perform maintenance IAW FAA-approved technical data.
  • Must be able to use all tech data and aircraft drawings and accomplish repairs, modifications, and engineering orders to repair the body or structure of aircraft according to specifications by:
    • Interpreting work orders, blueprints, and specifications or being able to examine sample or damaged parts or structures to determine repair or fabrication procedures and sequence of operations,
    • Fabricating and tailoring replacement parts, including compound skins, rolled skins and bulkheads, doublers, stringers, fittings, longerons,  
    • Fabricate defective sections or parts, using metal fabricating machines (ie. English Wheels, shrinkers, and rollers), saws, brakes, shears, and grinders.
    • Assess to determine the extent of repair and therefore remove or cut out defective part or drills holes to gain access to internal defect or damage, using drill and punch, 
    • Cleaning, stripping, sanding, priming, and preparing structural & non-structural surfaces and materials prior to bonding or assembling,
    • Locating and marking dimensions and reference lines on defective or replacement parts, using templates, scribes, compass, and steel rule
    • Reinstalling repaired or replacement parts using clamps, jigs, and tooling, which may include developed fixtures specific to a task, 
    • Drill, ream, and prepare close tolerance fastener holes up to within ten-thousandths of an inch tolerance for subsequent fastening, 
    • Install Hi-lok, Hi-Lite, solid rivets, and blind rivets (incl; Cherry-max, Cherry Lok, Huck-clinch, Jo-bolts, etc)
    • Able to cold work holes and surfaces as may be required; ie, dimpling, flap peening, shot peening, and able to operate cold working expansion tooling, 
    • Able to install all blind fasteners and receptacles. 
    • Treat and seal the finished repair, modification
Job Requirements:
  • Must have 5+ years experience in the field
  • Has intermediate knowledge of all areas of the aircraft and assigned work area.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of bonded structures and repairs
  • Repair, modify, replace, or otherwise perform routine aircraft maintenance work in all areas of aircraft ( DHC-8, DHC-6 (Twin Otter)
  • Evaluate and Develop repair schemes utilizing SRM or Engineering data,
  • Communicate effectively with other maintenance personnel at all levels by keeping co-workers and leadership apprised of work progress and difficulties as they arise
  • Read and interpret manufacturer and airline maintenance manuals, service bulletins, drawings, engineering authorizations, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repair, replacement, or modification
  • Be familiar with and utilize the customer safety program and the hazardous materials procedures
  • Responsible for accurate time and record-keeping
  • Complete job assignments in a timely manner
  • Effective communication and appropriate conduct with co-workers.
  • Tools must be etched and shadowed
Salary Range: $42.11-$44.11
