JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the maintenance of tooling, receipt of various aerospace tooling and supplies, supporting proper and exact record keeping for repaired tooling.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Proficient with special aircraft tooling and equipment functions.
  • Ability to find basic hand tool repairs and order needed repair parts.
  • Complete tool room inventories as needed for repair parts.
  • Maintain a close relationship with production immediate aid needs.
  • Perform any work that may be assigned by his/her manager.
  • Adhere to safe maintenance practices and keep a clean work area.
  • Maintain quality control of all tooling upon completion of tool repairs.
  • Ensure all broken tools are moved to the assigned area and tag is filled completely.
  • Ensure an exact record and location of all tooling matches SAP.
  • Maintain engine cradles performance and knowledge of their functions and contents.
  • Elevated level of communication skills with production and understanding all concepts of job tasks that require resolution.
  • Technician responsibility is to Secure unauthorized personnel entrance to tooling repair rooms to managers and above.

 

JOB SPECIFICATION:

 

Good knowledge of office procedures and the ability to prepare routine reports and keep specialize d files and records as pertains to tool repair.

 

WORKING ENVIROMENT:

Tool room personnel typically work in a fast-paced environment with equipment ranging from hand tools to heavy equipment. Personnel may be assigned to one or several tool repair tasks and might work with little immediate management.

 

MANAGEMENT:

 

Under immediate direction by the Tooling Repair Manager, he/she performs assignment after receiving the detailed instructions as to methods, procedures, and desired end results. Use of headphones, blue tooth, or personal cell phones during work time is prohibited, misuse of computers other than job related issues is prohibited and will result in disciplinary actions.

 

INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS:

 

An elevated level of interpersonal skills on the floor of the tool room and on the floor of production is needed to support an effective relationship with management and co -workers.

 

PHYSICAL ENVIROMENT:

 

Remove and replace tooling parts in upper and lower storage shelves. working environment requires the ability to stand 90 of the workday on hard surfaces. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and report to work regularly. Must be able to work in environments having dust and paint.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED required.

EXPERIENCE: 2 years of direct aircraft maintenance or 2 years of tooling repair experience required. Inventory control experience is preferred
