Job Description:

UH-60/AH-64/AH-1Z/UH-1Y, Powerplant/Engine Back Shop Mechanic (T700/701C/D) performs and inspects aviation intermediate (AVIM) and depot maintenance on assigned engine systems.

  • Perform maintenance and repair of major assemblies and subassemblies of the T700/701C/D,
  • Inspect engine turbine blades to detect cracks, distortion, corrosion, burn-out, security, or breaks.
  • Perform blade blending and blade replacement in the cold sections of powerplants.
  • Replace or repair worn or damaged components, such as generators, alternators, fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, and engine-mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves.
  • Ability to Perform hot section inspections and determine the replacement of hot section components (GG rotors, stators, fuel injectors, igniters, power turbine.)
  • Disassemble and inspect parts for wear, cracks, security, or other defects.
  • Perform engine removal, replacement, reinstallation, and quick-change assembly (QCA) maintenance tasks.
Job Requirements:
  • Five (5) years of recent applicable engine maintenance experience is required.
  • Military T700 Engine School or GE Factory Trained.
  • FAA A&P Preferred but not required for the right candidate. Must be willing to obtain once experience requirements are met.
  • UH60 airframe & engine experience preferred, AH-64, AH-1Z, or UH-1Y engine experience acceptable.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Experience using a variety of common hand tools and measuring devices such as gauges, torque wrenches, scales, and TMDE (Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment).
  • Ability to cross-train in various maintenance disciplines and general maintenance on UH-60/AS350/B214/R66 Helicopters.
  • Must have skills in reading, applying, and interpreting technical data from maintenance manuals, modification (MWO) installation instructions, schematics, and engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of quality, production, and supply processes required to perform job assignments.
  • Analytical skills are required to perform complex troubleshooting.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

  • Must be able to climb, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, crouch, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
  • Frequently lift parts and equipment up to 20 pounds.
  • Occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds.

Compensation:

  • Competitive Starting Wage, scheduled overtime every on-shift rotation
  • 2 Week on 2 Week of rotation +/- 2 days is typical year-round
