Weapons Mechanic II

This is a direct hire position with Vertex. 

The Weapons Mechanic II performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on M240D machine guns and other associated equipment, mounts,  squibs,  CAD/PAD,  and shop support items in accordance with company Standard Operating Procedures and the PWS.

• Recent experience at the 5 level (or equivalent) as a Weapons/Armament specialist (1 year within the last 3  years).
• Knowledge and experience in technical,  safety,  and environmental issues involving Weapons maintenance. 
• Must possess a comprehensive understanding of Weapons technical procedures.  
• USAF or equivalent Weapons formal military training required.
• Extensive knowledge of Weapons maintenance procedures,  troubleshooting,  technical publications, special tools,  test equipment,  and safety procedures required. 
• Weapons qualifications and munitions are handling certifications as applicable.
• Working knowledge of IMDS and other computer programs.
• Ability to move about both inside aircraft hangar and outside on aircraft ramp within close proximity of running equipment and aircraft. 
• Willing to travel on occasion.
